Rickey Bird is the owner of Hectic Films Productions in Bakersfield. Since 2002, he and Jason Sanders have worked on five feature
films and more than 100 Internet shorts. Since he was a kid, Bird has always seen himself creating movies. "I wanted to act," he said. "I saw myself writing scripts for me to act in."
As a fourth grader, his mind started to wander in class with thoughts of movie ideas, new innovative special effects and how he would produce and direct his own films. Hectic Films has given Rickey the opportunity to help create feature films including “Phase Two,” “Stamped!,” “Phase Two,” “Dead Things,” “Who Hit Me” and “Carte Blanche.”
When Rickey is not working on a feature film, he spends his spare time working with web based companies, including YouTube, to give the fans short films, holiday comedies, local news spoofs or any other fun project he can render out. His dreams that he had as a fourth grader have now come true to him. The dreams that he holds now are to impact the filming industry.
Rickey plays Travis Levon, a hard-working businessman who is willing to do anything to get the job done to please his boss in “The Deadlines.”
